If the folks at Boston Dynamics have any say in the matter, mankind will relegate conflicts to specialized military robots like Boston Dynamics’ Petman.
I am reminded of what George S Patton once said ” Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men. It is the spirit of men who follow and of the man who leads that gains the victory” – I wonder what he’d say.
However, the success of unmanned aerial vehicles in the prosecution of the GWOT is undisputed, but can that success be extended to the battlefield; removing the foot soldier and replacing him with military robots like Petman? Interesting question and the possibilities are indeed interesting.
