Daniel Defense Will Offer Its M4 V5 in 300 Blackout In 2012.

Daniel Defense, headquartered in Black Greek, GA announced that in 2012 it would introduce a version of its highly successful M4 V5 chambered in 300 Blackout. Daniel Defense started its trek into the military market when its M4 Rail™ was adopted by the United States Army Marksmanship Unit, for the Designated Marksman Rifle Program. Following up on that success, Daniel Defense pursued and was awarded the sole source contract to produce the RIS II for the SOPMOD block II for USSOCOM.

I am a huge fan of the 300 Blackout and I’m happy to see manufacturers jump on the 300 Blackout bandwagon. AR style weapons chambered in the 300 Blackout cartridge retain the weight and handling characteristics, commonality in parts and magazines across the AR design, but in the process pick up the performance of a .308 or 7.62×39 cartridge.
