Colt Defense, LLC has filed a second legal protest in what is increasingly becoming a fight to delay its M4A1 business from leaving Colt Defense.
Colt won its first protest, filed only 6 months ago, when the Army selected Remington Defense to build its M4A1s. Colt alleged a miscalculation of royalties Colt would receive. The exact reason or reasons for its second protest are unknown, but it’s looking more and more like a delay tactic to keep its M4/M4A1 business.
Colt filed its second protest October 9th after receiving the Army’s amended solicitation. It’ll be interesting to see the basis for the second protest and what the GAO will do with it.
