PM Soldier Weapons Gets A Little Help From Alion

Alion Science and Technology, a defense contractor, based in Northern, VA. was awarded an engineering research and development task order from the US Army to support its project manager soldier weapons (PM SW) programme. The task order is estimated to be worth $6 million.

Under the order Alion will perform R&D for both individual and crew-served weapons to evaluate and analyse performance and capabilities. Alion will also have collateral project coordination and management.

The company has tremendous breath and depth ranging from testing and simulation to marine architecture and logistics, and just about everything in between.

The task order was warded through the Weapons Systems Technology Information Analysis Center (WSTIAC), headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and runs through to December 2014. WSTIAC is one of nine Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) Information Analysis Centers (IACs) operated by Alion.

DTIC serves the US Department of Defense (DoD) and offers scientific and technical information access to DoD personnel and contractors, as well as researchers, designers and engineers.
