Arsenal has done a great job of developing an industry wide reputation for the best off-the-shelf AK rifles available anywhere. At this year’s SHOT Show they reaffirmed that commitment with their SLR106 family of 5.56 x 45 AK rifles.
The SLR 106 is a Bulgarian made stamped receiver. The rifle is remanufacturer at Arsenal , Inc. in Las Vegas to ensure that each rifle sold is U.S. compliant. The Bulgarian components consist of a 1 mm stamped receiver and a chrome lined hammer forged barrel. All other components are U.S. made, which includes an anti-slap double stage trigger group.
These rifles are absolutely fantastic and the attention detail is superb. The SLR106 comes in a variety of configurations. The SLR-106F and SLR-106FR models come with a front sight block with bayonet lug and 24 x 1.5mm right-hand threads, gas block with bayonet lug, Bulgarian chrome lined muzzle brake, and in black or desert sand color. Both F and FR models are offered in a left side folding stock.
The SLR-106CR model comes with a front sight block / gas block combination. The “H” variant of the SLR-106CR comes with a detachable muzzle device. SLR-106UR models come with a front sight block / gas block combination and short gas system “ a la Krinkov.”
M.S.R.P. on these rifles range from $800 to $1050 with exception of the SLR-106UR SBR, which sells for $2200.
If you’re not doing a custom build or if you need a base rifle to build on, Arsenal is where it’s at.
