Anyone who tells you that you have to go with Schmidt and Bender Optics to get the best performance has not spent quality time with the recent crop of tactical optics from Leupold Stevens. At this year’s SHOT SHOW I had the opportunity to check out the line and it is simply amazing in every respect.
I’m not the only one who shares that opinion. MARSOC, USMC Special Operations Command has purchased a number of Leupold Mark 8 CQBSS. They’re getting a scope with excellent optics, a 34mm tube, 1.1-8x magnification so the operator can function in a close quarters environment as well as a DMR, adjustable ocular, aluminum dust caps front and back, illuminated first focal plane, 10 mils of elevation per revolution in .1 mil increments for very fine adjustment, zero stop and locking turrets. Leupold’s Mark 8 CQBSS is available in the M-TMR (Tactical Milling Reticle) and in the HORUS H-27D for full integration with the HORUS ballistic system.
