New for 2014, Trijicon has introduced the VCOG. This is a magnified optic 1-6x that incorporates a BDC (bullet drop compensator) reticle. Calibers currently supported are the .223 55gr, .223 77gr .308 175gr and 300 Blk 115gr. The VCOG has a battery powered illuminated reticle. The single AA, battery will give you, depending on environmental conditions, approximately 750 hours of illumination. The VCOG is shockproof, waterproof and won’t fog. All things considered, what I liked most about the VCOG is the man-sized (very 70s sorry) power knob that allows you to easily adjust magnification from a true 1x to a true 6x. The VCOG uses first focal plane so it will range accurately at any magnification. In 1x the sight can be used for CQC/CQB. Look for May 2014 availability at an M.S.R.P. of $2800.
Trijicon, is also adding Cerakote finishes to the RMRs, Reflex sights and ACOGs. The coating is applied over the black anodizing and will be available in flat dark earth, olive drab and sniper grey.
