Moms Mabley, a.k.a. Loretta Mary Aiken (native North Carolinian), was a pioneer comic straight from the Chitlin’ Circuit. Her Vaudeville style of standup comedy gave rise to artists like Whoopi Goldberg, Eddy Murphy, Bill Cosby and Nipsey Russell. I love her comedy, so I thought I’d share this short clip of Moms.
