TGIF readers, congratulations on successfully navigating through another week in the New Year. Now hear this, I recognize that few of you are pacing back and forth wearing a hole in your teakwood flooring in anticipation of what camouflage pattern the Army will finally end up using to replace ACU; however, the World Wide Web is “abuzzing” with Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno’s use, or misuse, of the word “Multicam” in lieu of OCP when discussing the Army’s future direction of standard issue camouflage patterns, at his last town hall meeting . So, we’ve called this Friday’s shoot-the-shit topic Did He Mean Multicam or OCP. OR, is General Odierno signaling that he’s not about to piss away 3, or so, Billion Dollars worth of kit to standardize on a camouflage pattern that is virtually indistinguishable from the existing Multicam pattern.
