When I mentioned in an earlier post that 2015 is the year for Remington 700 shooters I meant it sincerely. The availability of advanced short action chassis has never been better and with competition comes pricing options never available before. It also means that manufacturers will have to earn your business with substance not fluff.
KFS Industries announced at SHOT SHOW 2015 its TACMOD chassis for the Remington 700 platform. To call it impressive seems somewhat inadequate but I’ll leave it at that. The TACOD features a folding stock, aluminum handguard with a Picatinny rail at the 12 o’clock position, and the rest of the handguard is pre-drilled and tapped at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions for additional rail space as desired. Shooters can use any grip and buttstock styles designed for the AR platform, so there’s excellent flexibility on the ergonomics side of the house. This chassis is machine from aluminum and comes in at just over 3 lbs..
The TACMOD is a drop-in design accepting any barrel profile and oversized recoil lugs. The system is compatible with the AICS .223 and .308 magazines. Availability is scheduled for Q1 2015 at an M.S.R.P. of $1,200 to $1,300 depending on options.
