SIG ARMS is not just another prestigious firearms manufacturer that’s vertically integrated, it’s also adding product lines at a blinding pace; this was clearly visible at this year’s Shot Show in Las Vegas.
Optics is one of those areas where SIG has added some very impressive magnified optics. I’m holding SIG’s OSCAR3 in 6-12 x 25 image stabilized mini-spotting scope.
The SIG SAUER OSCAR3™ mini spotting scope features electronic image stabilization technology and fits in the palm of your hand (read no tripod required). The proprietary SOS™ SIG Optic Stabilizer system is gyroscopically stabilized that cancels out the very disruptive image of artifacts shaking and vibrations that can blur an image, especially at higher spotting scope magnification levels. SIG utilizes Low Dispersion fully multicoated glass and a BAK4 prism, which delivers razor sharp images, exceptional color fidelity and outstanding low light performance. The body is constructed from a lightweight glass fiber reinforced polymer body wrapped in a durometer synthetic rubber. So, it’s very grippe and feels great in the hand.
The OSCAR3 features a multi-position twist-up eyecup to customize eye relief setting and has independent power selector, focus and image stabilization controls. The OSCAR3 is covered by the SIG SAUER Electro-Optics Infinite Guarantee and SIG SAUER Electronic Component Limited 5-Year Warranty
SIG’s OSCAR3 is available in two flavors 6 – 12 x 25mm and 10 – 20 x 30mm. The company also manufactures the OSCAR5 a much larger long range optic in 15 – 45 x 65mm.
