MHS CONTRACT AWARD GOES TO SIG AND ITS P320 FAMILY

The DoD announced on 19 Jan 2017 that SIG Arms has been awarded the Modular Handgun System contract putting to rest any scuttlebutt that Glock had it wrapped up. The X17, as designated by the DoD, will replace the aging M9 and represents a $580 million piece of business running through 2027. The first tranche will be $100 million or more. We’ll update readers as soon as we hear from SIG Arms with details as to the precise P320 variant purchased under the DoD contract. The P320 is a state of the art striker fired pistol that is reliable, accurate and features a superb trigger. Our congratulations goes out to SIG Arms.

However, I remain intrigued by the “sneak attack” announcement during Shot Show and just before the Inauguration. Drain the swamp at work, maybe?
