The table below is based on 2015 data and captures firearm types produced by each manufacturer for the year. Sturm Ruger came in first with a total of 1.7 million firearms produced for the year. Smith & Wesson was the king of the pistol and revolver production. Remington Arms took the rifle category and was second in the shotgun category to Mossberg. The numbers presented below do not include firearms manufactured by small manufacturers or boutique custom shops.
