Readers we made it through another week, and as you know, Friday is when we try to publish a shoot the shit topic for your reading enjoyment. For new readers, a shoot the shit topic can be anything that comes to mind. As a reader, you can make any unsupported comment, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone you wish or change the subject altogether.

Have you ever wondered who did what to whom in firearms manufacturing?

The table below is based on 2015 data and captures firearm types produced by each manufacturer for the year. Sturm Ruger came in first with a total of 1.7 million firearms produced for the year. Smith & Wesson was the king of the pistol and revolver production. Remington Arms took the rifle category and was second in the shotgun category to Mossberg. The numbers presented below do not include firearms manufactured by small manufacturers or boutique custom shops.

Of all firearms manufacturer in 2015, by firms listed in the table above, rifles accounted for 43% of all guns made; followed by pistols at 38% , shotguns account for 11% and revolvers 8%.
