CRKT’s Williams Tactical Pen

In 2018 Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT®) introduced a new version of its wildly successful John Williams tactical pen, but before presenting the salient points, let’s define what a tactical pen is.

The tactical pen is a writing implement first and foremost, but its design characteristics make it suitable for defensive use in situations where local laws or travel restrictions do not permit access to or use of a firearm. When employed against a belligerent assailant it will successfully modify the aggressive behavior potentially saving your life.

John Williams, its designer, is a former U.S. Army Officer and martial artist with an ancient Japanese preference as can been seen in his HISSATSU™ fix blade knife and one of my favorites the HISSOHU™depicted below.

20180723_110716Williams’ pen is clean and every bit as stylish as any Monte Blanc. It’s 6061 Aluminum steel construction is robust and finished in a very classy non-reflective black anodized look. The pocket clip is designed so that it won’t snag or damage your finest apparel; it’s also removable by simply unscrewing the retention cap. The pen weighs a mere 1.2 ounces so it can be carried comfortably.

If the pen is to be mightier than the sword, it too must be a fine writing instrument and Williams’ choice of the Fisher Space Pen Cartridge achieves that goal.

The Fisher Space Pen’s Sealed Pressurized Ink Cartridge Performs in temperatures from -30ºF to +250ºF, underwater, in zero gravity, at any angle–even upside down! It sets the standard for dependability! That performance makes it the number one choice of ski patrols, search and rescue teams, law enforcement agencies, armed forces, or everyone demanding reliability in a writing instrument.

CRKT’s Williams Tactical Pen is a superb writing instrument that deserves to be called an executive pen. It is a great lifesaving gift idea that will set you back $69.99 directly from CRKT. But, do shop it around to avail yourself of this great pen at even better pricing. Check it out!
