MANTIS X training system has taken the industry by storm, the MANTIS creation is a powerhouse of analytics. The system collects everything that your muzzle is doing just before the trigger is pulled and after the trigger is pulled; analyzing the data to assess what you’re doing well and what you’re doing wrong. Regular use of the MANTIS X system will improve your shooting. Furthermore, it can be used in dryfire or live fire practice session.  But, what happens when you want to dryfire practice with your carbine? You have to operate the charging handle for each and every shot – enter MANTIS’ BlackBeard.

The BlackBeard training system replaces your bolt carrier group with a laser ( red, green or IR) and electronics package that auto-resets your AR’s trigger after each shot fired. BlackBeard allows you to take up to 10 dry fire shots per second, quickly resetting the hammer between each shot.

A USB rechargeable battery pack powers BlackBeard and is inserted into the magazine well. You’ll get about 100,000 shots from the battery before charging is required.

I had the opportunity to test drive the system at Shot Show and it rocks. You will definitely want to add BlackBeard to your training aids. The laser impulse will also work with other training aids and laser reactive targets.

BlackBeard should be available sometime in Q2 and will carry a price of $200 – $250 depending on the laser type you select. Based on what I experienced at the company’s booth, I think that MANTIS can reasonably expect to see another award!
