In the coming months, we expect significant increases over traditional lead times for card issuance items that are essential to your organization. We understand it would be extremely disruptive if your ability to issue new credentials is limited once everyone returns to normal routines.
ID printer, consumables (ribbons, laminates, etc.), contactless and other technology card availability may be affected for the following reasons:
1.) We anticipate an unusually large volume of orders in a short period of time as employees, students and general public return to normal operations. In the very best of times, card-related product manufacturers are challenged and work hard to fill orders during peak times.
2.) Supply chain disruptions – based on prior experiences, we anticipate manufacturers will see shortages of critical materials from their downstream supply chains.
We suggest you consider the following as soon as possible:
If you normally order card issuance supplies (cards, printer ribbons, laminates, etc.) in the spring, summer or fall, you should consider accelerating your order to ensure that you have adequate supplies.
Please make sure you accurately indicate your shipping location when placing orders. Many personnel are already requesting shipments to alternative locations such as private homes or holding facilities.
ColorID is an “Essential Business” and will remain open to serve throughout this crisis to provide whatever needs you may have.
