In 1957, Luxembourg became one of the six founding countries of the EEC (later the EU), and in 1999 it joined the euro currency zone. This tiny country has a population of about 620,000 people. Their ethnic milieu is 51.1% Luxembourger, 15.7% Portuguese, 7.5% French, 3.6% Italian and 22.1% others. All of the corresponding languages are spoken with a greater prevalence for French, Italian, German and English.
As small as it is, Luxembourg has not escaped the COVID 19 challenge but they have a pretty interesting way of keeping the public informed. Citizens receive pamphlets as represented in the image above. This is one in a series of 4 done in 5 languages; providing some fairly specific instructions as the country moves through the various phases of deconfinement.
