As a consequence of the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, GSOF Symposium Europe, organized by Clarion Events on behalf of the Global SOF Foundation, scheduled for October in Warsaw, Poland will no longer take place in 2020. This is a result of the continuing prohibitions and advisories against international travel put into effect by governments around the world and Poland’s introduction of COVID-19 regulations and public health directives. The next edition of GSOF Symposium Europe will be staged 26-28 October 2021 at Marriott Warsaw, Poland.
Stuart Bradin, CEO and President of Global SOF Foundation, said: “Based on health and safety considerations, on-going limitations on large gatherings, and extensive travel restrictions, it is not possible for us to conduct the Symposium as we originally envisioned. We simply cannot convene the international special operations community in a meaningful way in the current environment. We are terribly disappointed, but the health and safety of our attendees, speakers, and partners must take priority.”
Tracy Bebbington, Event Director, Clarion Events Defense and Security, said: “While the decision not to hold GSOF Symposium Europe this year is disappointing for us as organizers, it is a result of factors beyond our control. The 2021 symposium will fulfil our collective desire to execute a world-class event to highlight Poland’s important contributions to European security and the significance of special operations forces globally.
Clarion Events is one of the largest exhibition organizers in the world and holds the safety of all event attendees as its highest priority. As such the company is looking ahead to how physical distancing measures can be incorporated into the planning of all our events in the future and is contributing to broader government and event industry initiatives to support this.”
