Wishing You and Your Families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I hope you’ve all had a great week and are looking forward to The Holidays. It’s a great time of the year to enjoy family and kids not to mention yourself. 2020 has been a difficult year but the end is at hand. We have the Pfizer vaccine being administered as I speak and the Moderna vaccine should be approved within a couple of days. I want to ask you for a huge favor, take the negative vaccine feedback on social media and wipe your ass with it. These vaccines do not alter your DNA so you won’t be waking up with a penis or boob growing out of your forehead. Get the vaccine, but don’t run out and make an appointment with a therapist. Remember that a therapist is a jackass who majored in psychology so they could understand themselves; instead, schedule a shoot the shit.

We will be taking a meritorious week off to enjoy the Holiday Season

Some of you may be getting a drone for Christmas, they’re an incredible tool for the photographer or videographer BUT…

The FAA is increasingly treating sUAS (.55 lbs. – 55 lbs.) as aircraft and they have been changing details and procedures but not doing a great job at communicating changes, so it’s up to you to stay current. As a result, there is a large number of drone pilots operating their craft illegally. Whether you are recreational pilot or Part 107 licensed pilot you must register your drone with the FAA if it’s heavier than .55 lbs. You can register your drone here there’s a nominal fee of $5 and it’s good for 3 years.

The FAA wants all drone pilots, recreational or Part 107 licensed to use the LAANC (pronounced “lance”). This is a system for airspace authorization. The LAANC system will provide automated authorization but you need to know the rules, so I’ve uploaded them for your reading pleasure.

Much of what the FAA is doing may look like an overreaction and that they’re trying to limit drones, but the catalyst behind this crackdown are the numerous idiots who intentionally, or out of stupidity, fly their drones in a manner that interferes with manned aircraft traffic. DHS also has an interest in drone management because  a small drone can be easily used to commit an act of terror.

So familiarize yourselves with the rules and enjoy flying safely.

Have a wonderful Holiday Season, be safe, but enjoy yourself, you need it.! Hoping  Santa brings you everything on your list!
