2021 kicked off with tragedies. First, a group of miscreants decided to attack the United States Capitol, a decision that resulted in the death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick; who was laid to rest 3 Feb 2021. R.I.P.
Next up, two FBI Special Agents, Laura Schwartzenberger and Daniel Alfin, were killed while serving a warrant in Broward County Florida, on a genetic defect that was into child porn and child abuse.
We honor these public servants and their families, a given, but it also dimensions the depths of ignorance of those calling to defund the police. There is no greater measure of stupidity than what’s being demonstrated by a group of privileged imbeciles.
Friday is upon us and in spite of COVID 19 and unprecedented ammo shortages we look forward to a great weekend; however, even with the challenges we face, there are better alternatives to therapy. Remember that a psychologist is a jackass who majored in psychology so they could understand themselves. These individuals will charge you $150+ per hour and attempt to convince you that you’re really YungBudh trapped in a normal body.

Instead of therapy, I recommend a good shoot the shit. A shoot the shit is a social interaction during which any topic can be discussed. Participants don’t need to know anything about the subject, they are free to make any unsupported comment, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone they wish or change the subject, and it will save you at the very least $150 that you can then use to buy a 50 round box of 9mm ball, if you can find one, to get a little range time with your buds. Much more effective!
So let’s get started…
For the last week, we’ve been hearing about the Game Stop, Wall Street and retail traders extravaganza – the media didn’t do a very good job of explaining it. So, I’ll give it a try.
Large investors like hedge funds trade in and out of stocks using margin accounts. A margin account is carried by a brokerage house and in its simplest form is like a credit card. Using a margin account you can buy 1,000 shares of XYZ company using the brokers money. After a specified period and interest rate you have to pay back the broker. It also works to facilitate short sales. What’s a short sale?
A short sale is one in which you sell a block of shares at the current market price expecting that those same shares will drop in price. You don’t need to own those shares, using a margin account you can borrow them from your broker. So, let’s say that you can sell borrowed shares at their current market price of $100 a share and when the stock price drops to $20 you buy shares back at the $20 price. You then pay the broker back and pocket the $80 profit.
When you’re dealing with hedge funds and other institutional investors they are usually trading large blocks of shares; selling large blocks of shares has the effect of lowering the market price of the target stock.
What happened with Game Spot is that a group of Reddit users found out about the Game Spot short and started buying the stock as it was being shorted. Their volume was sufficiently high so as to drive the price of Game Spot higher creating what’s called a short squeeze. By driving Game Spot’s stock higher, the hedge fund was not able to buy Game Spot’s stock at the lower price to close out the short sale, so the hedge funds lost their ass!
That was when the Robin Hood App started restricting trades supporting the hedge funds at the expenses of the retail investors. What happens next is still evolving.
Moving on
Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is at it again. She has been accusing Senator Ted Cruz of trying to murder her. Another moment of brilliance is her recent Instagram story of her hiding in the bathroom and hearing pounding and screaming at her door. The initial suggestion was that the protesters storming the capitol were trying to get at her, a story that was exposed as a boldface lie by another Congresswoman and not supported by video. I can’t wait for her to suggest that Senator Cory Booker was trying to break into her bathroom.
Let’s talk about COVID
In closing, there’s a lot of misinformation being circulated about the Covid vaccines and the virus. There are people who actually believe COVID19 is a government hoax, don’t buy that crap. I was fortunate enough to receive two doses and I can categorically tell you that there’s nothing to fear. As I understand it, vaccines will soon be available at Walgreen’s and CVS so get your vaccine and we can get this crap behind us. Do it!
