The Nighthawk Custom Thunder Ranch Combat Special is a collaboration between Nighthawk Custom and the legendary Thunder Ranch.
Clint Smith, President and Director of Thunder Ranch, is a Marine Corps veteran of two infantry and Combined Action Platoon tours in Vietnam. His experience also includes seven years as a police officer during which he served as head of the Firearms Training Division, as well as being a S.W.A.T. member and precision rifleman. For 30 years, Thunder Ranch has been the premier destination for world-class firearms training.
Clint, an expert 1911 shooter, selected Nighthawk Custom to build his idea of the ultimate combat pistol. After many discussions and prototypes, the Thunder Ranch Combat Special was born. This model features newly designed extra wide front and rear cocking serrations, a lanyard loop mainspring housing, a “GI-Style” nub thumb safety, custom engraving, and a gold bead front sight. The gun is finished with a unique Smoked Nitride finish and green linen/micarta scale grips. Standard in .45 ACP but also available in 9mm.
